Nollywood Mourns; a Veteran has exited the stage

Victor Decker is a household name in the Nollywood industry, especially in Abuja where he resided.

The sad news of his sudden death filtered the air yesterday evening. He was said to have died in his house and was discovered dead around 5pm on the 15th February 2021, by concerned neighbors. It was gathered that the neighbors waited to see him and exchange humorous pleasantries, as was his custom every time he woke up in the morning, but all was to no avail. It became worrisome to them as they saw him retire to his abode a night before the fateful day.

Having confirmed that he never left the house very early in the morning, as no one saw him do so, the neighbors decided to break into his house around 5pm in the evening and found him dead, seated on his cushion.

The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained as at this moment. The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Abuja and the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) Abuja, the two notable Guilds in which he belonged, got the information from the concerned neighbors around 6pm yesterday. AGN and AMP Guilds have deposited his remains to the morgue around 4am this morning, after due process, including police reports.

The immediate family and the two notable Guilds he belonged to, AGN and AMP Abuja, are on the preparations for his burial which will take place in Abuja on the 18th of February, 2021.

Until his death, late Victor Decker starred in so many movies which includes “If I am the President”, “Double Strings”, “Lotanna”, to mention but a few. He was a dedicated member of Actors Guild of Nigeria and Association of Movie Producers, respectively. He was a Veteran who stood by the truth and justice, no matter whose Ox is gored. He was an inspiration to the young Actors and Producers, especially in Abuja.

Late Victor Decker was actively involved in the talent hunts executed by FACE OF MADE IN NIGERIA; Gwagwalada Got Talents, Benue Youths Got Talents, et cetera.

Late Victor Decker will be highly missed by all those who know him, the Nollywood industry and most especially by the Actors and Producers residing in Abuja.

May his soul find rest in the Lord as he enjoys blissful rest, Amen.
